Surah Taha (طه) • Ta-Ha

Quran 20:131

20:131

walā tamuddanna ʿaynayka ilā mā mattaʿnā bihi azwājan min'hum zahrata l-ḥayati l-dun'yā linaftinahum fīhi wariz'qu rabbika khayrun wa-abqā

and do not gaze longingly at what We have given some of them to enjoy, the finery of this present life: We test them through this, but the provision of your Lord is better and more lasting.

And strain not your eyes in longing for the things We have given for enjoyment to various groups of them (polytheists and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh), the splendour of the life of this world, that We may test them thereby. But the provision (good reward in the Hereafter) of your Lord is better and more lasting.
