قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِى صَدْرِى
qāla rabbi ish'raḥ lī ṣadrī
[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand [i.e., relax] for me my breast [with assurance]

[Mûsâ (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness).

Verses 25 to 28 of Surah Ta-Ha record the dua of Prophet Musa when Allah commanded him to go to Pharaoh: "My Lord, expand for me my chest, ease for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue, so that they may understand my speech." Musa was being sent to the most powerful man on earth and had a speech impediment, so he asked for four things: inner calm, an easy path, clear speech and understanding from his audience. The dua was answered, as the next verses show. It has become the standard dua before public speaking, exams, interviews and any task that feels bigger than the person facing it.
