Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
Have you seen the one who denies the Recompense?
For that is the one who drives away the orphan
And does not encourage the feeding of the poor.
So woe to those who pray
[But] who are heedless of their prayer -
Those who make show [of their deeds]
And withhold [simple] assistance.
Al-Ma'un asks: have you seen the one who denies the Judgment? It is he who pushes away the orphan and does not encourage feeding the poor. It then warns those who pray while heedless of their prayer, who perform deeds to be seen, and who withhold even small acts of kindness.
