About Surah Al-Masad (المسد)

Al-Masad condemns Abu Lahab, the Prophet's ﷺ own uncle, who answered the first public call to Islam with 'may you perish.' The surah declared — years before their deaths in disbelief — that his wealth would not avail him, and that he and his wife, the carrier of firewood, would enter a fire of flame.
