وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ

الطارق
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلطَّارِقِ
وَمَآ أَدْرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلطَّارِقُ
ٱلنَّجْمُ ٱلثَّاقِبُ
إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ
فَلْيَنظُرِ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ
خُلِقَ مِن مَّآءٍ دَافِقٍ
يَخْرُجُ مِنۢ بَيْنِ ٱلصُّلْبِ وَٱلتَّرَآئِبِ
إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ رَجْعِهِۦ لَقَادِرٌ
يَوْمَ تُبْلَى ٱلسَّرَآئِرُ
فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلرَّجْعِ
وَٱلْأَرْضِ ذَاتِ ٱلصَّدْعِ
إِنَّهُۥ لَقَوْلٌ فَصْلٌ
وَمَا هُوَ بِٱلْهَزْلِ
إِنَّهُمْ يَكِيدُونَ كَيْدًا
وَأَكِيدُ كَيْدًا
فَمَهِّلِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ أَمْهِلْهُمْ رُوَيْدًۢا
At-Tariq swears by the sky and the piercing night star that every soul has a protector-keeper over it. It calls man to consider what he was created from, affirms that Allah is fully able to bring him back, and describes the Quran as a decisive word — no jest.
At-Tariq (الطارق) means "The Night Comer" in English. It is chapter 86 of the Holy Quran.
Surah At-Tariq has 17 verses (ayat). It appears on pages 591 to 591 of the mushaf.
Surah At-Tariq is a Makki surah, revealed in Makkah before the Prophet's ﷺ migration to Madinah.
