An-Naba opens with the question people dispute about — the great news of the resurrection — then answers with evidence: the earth spread as a bed, mountains as pegs, sleep for rest, the day for livelihood. It sets the Day of Decision at an appointed time, with Hell lying in wait and gardens for the righteous.
An-Naba (النبإ) means "The Great News" in English. It is chapter 78 of the Holy Quran.
Surah An-Naba has 40 verses (ayat). It appears on pages 582 to 583 of the mushaf.
Surah An-Naba is a Makki surah, revealed in Makkah before the Prophet's ﷺ migration to Madinah.
