وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ

البروج
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ
وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ
وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ
قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ
ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ
إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ
وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ
وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ
إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ
وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ
ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ
فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ
هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ
فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ
بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ
وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ
بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ
فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ
Al-Buruj memorializes the people of the ditch — believers burned alive for nothing except that they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy — while their persecutors sat watching. It promises that those who persecute believers without repenting face the punishment of the Blaze, and that your Lord's grip is severe.
Al-Buruj (البروج) means "The Great Stars" in English. It is chapter 85 of the Holy Quran.
Surah Al-Buruj has 22 verses (ayat). It appears on pages 590 to 590 of the mushaf.
Surah Al-Buruj is a Makki surah, revealed in Makkah before the Prophet's ﷺ migration to Madinah.
