About Surah Al-Fajr (الفجر)

Al-Fajr swears by the dawn and ten nights, then recalls how 'Ad of Iram, Thamud who carved the rocks, and Pharaoh of the stakes tyrannized the lands — and how your Lord poured on them a scourge of punishment. It rebukes those who fail to honor the orphan and feed the poor, and closes with the tenderest of calls: 'O reassured soul, return to your Lord well-pleased and pleasing' (89:27–30).
